Manchester United midfielder Casemiro insists he never seeks to injure an opponent.

Casemiro has been sent off twice so far this season.

He said, “The referees see that there is no evil. I always try to get to the ball, I always go strong because I am what I am and I like the intensity at which I play, but there is no evil.

“I never go with the studs to hurt a player and if it goes wrong I get angry because that’s not football. In football, yes, a foul can be made and a foul is football, but never evil.”

The Brazilian points out that what we see on the pitch is an extension of what he learned as a child.

“That comes from my values, the ones my mother taught me. I’m never going to hurt a player, I’m never going to insult a player, I’m never going to do too much damage.

“Of course you can sting, because each one defends his shield. But my values that my mother taught me is to never hurt anyone. I will continue to be needed, I will continue to see yellow cards, but the values that my mother taught me are never to hurt anyone.”
