Arsenal defender William Saliba has sent a warning to upcoming Premier League and Europa League opponents regarding Emile Smith Rowe.

Smith Rowe has played just 104 minutes in the Premier League this term, spending the majority of the season on the sidelines following a number of injury issues. The Hale End academy graduate needed surgery on an ongoing groin problem before suffering a thigh strain after finally making his recovery back in January.

The 22-year-old seems to finally be getting up to speed, playing 57 minutes during Saturday’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Bournemouth and he will be hoping to start Thursday’s Europa League clash against Sporting CP. Now, he has been seen in a video alongside Gunners teammate Saliba, with the pair heaping praise on each other throughout.

Saliba initially points at his teammate, calling him: ‘The Smith’. The two talented youngsters then go back and forth exchanging compliments.

Smith Rowe: “This is the guy, Saliba, this is the guy. He is the one.”

Saliba: “No, no, no, the Smith. The Smith is back.”

Smith Rowe: “He is the chosen one.”

Saliba: “No, no, no. They are not ready for him, the Smith.”

Smith Rowe: “Yeah?”

Saliba: “Yeah.”

The England international will be hoping to get back to his best sooner rather than later to try and help Arsenal end their 19-year wait to win a Premier League title. Mikel Arteta’s side currently sit five points clear at the top of the table and Saliba has been a huge part of that, starting all 26 league matches so far this term.
