Todd Boehly £70m Tammy Abraham option

Chelsea’s ongoing issues in the final third this season have placed further emphasis on a need for an out-and-out goalscorer. The Blues have scored the fewest number of goals in the league’s top 11 and have only scored more than one in seven Premier League games.

A high fee for a striker with only seven goals in all competitions this season. However, last season, Abraham was one of Europe’s highest scorers with 27 goals to help Roma win the UEFA Conference League.

Kai Havertz influence questioned

Chelsea owner Boehly has been told why a new striker must be next on his transfer shopping list following Kai Havertz’s uninspiring performance against Leeds.

After another uninspiring performance as Chelsea’s central striker, Havertz has been slammed for his performance. Former Tottenham defender Matt Dawson said on Sky Sports: “Kai Havertz, he’s just not a number nine.

“He doesn’t want to stay between the sticks. He just roams about and he didn’t cause them any problems today.”

John Terry called to save Potter

Chelsea eased the pressure on Graham Potter on Saturday with a much-needed 1-0 win over Leeds. Wesley Fofana’s second-half header handed the Blues a valuable three points after going six games without a win.

“For me, I’d get John Terry involved now,” Merson said before the Leeds win. “John Terry’s at the club, get him on the bench, get in there, get someone who’s been there before, played the game and done it.

“And start volleying people around! He’s too nice. It’s too nice.”
