Veiga, 20, has broken on to the scene with the LaLiga outfit this season after shining for the club’s reserve team, Celta B.

The Spain Under-21 international made his debut the Sky Blues back in 2020, but is enjoying a breakthrough campaign having scored eight goals and added three assists in just 21 league appearances.

Veiga has quickly developed into an integral player for Celta alongside former Liverpool flop Iago Aspas.

Both United and the Gunners are expected to add significant depth to their squad this summer, with Ten Hag in particular trying to lure young talent to Old Trafford as he continues his promising rebuild at the club after they won the Carabao Cup on Sunday.

And, according to Spanish outlet AS, both clubs have expressed an interest in Veiga, who Celta fans have labelled a ‘revelation’ after his performances this year.

The report also states the LaLiga outfit are hopeful of netting a club record fee for the attacking midfielder.

Their current record sale is the £18.5m departure of Stanislav Lobotka to Napoli back in 2020, while they also netted £16m for the sale of forward Nolito to Manchester City back in 2016.

Veiga is expected to receive his first senior call-up for Spain in the next international break which is only likely to increase competition for the midfielder’s signature.

Furthermore, Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly likely to rival the two Premier League giants for the 20-year-old.

Celta are currently 13th in LaLiga and are managed by former Swansea City and Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvahal.
