Chelsea will not rush Raheem Sterling’s return from injury —despite their desperate need for more threat up front.

The England international, 28, has had an injury-hit season. He recovered from a hamstring strain picked up against former club Manchester City in January, but has missed Chelsea’s last two games against West Ham and Borussia Dortmund after suffering a knock to the knee in training.
He is, though, keen to get back and help Chelsea’s push to salvage their season, and is now eyeing Southampton’s visit on Saturday for his comeback.
The Londoners drew a blank in Germany, despite a host of chances. They have scored two in a game only twice in their last 15 matches, netting just nine times.

January signings Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk have increased their forward options, but more are earmarked. A deal for RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku has been agreed, and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is also on the shortlist.
