Amrabat’s spectacular performances at the 2022 World Cup have put him on the wishlist of several elite European clubs.

With only hours remaining before the winter transfer window closes, FC Barcelona is reportedly in negotiations with the Italian club Fiorentina for the transfer of the sought-after Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
“Barça will offer a loan with a €37m buy option, and will negotiate with Fiorentina today,” tweeted Barca Universal.
Meanwhile, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano said that Fiorentina has so far rejected Barça’s offer of a €3m loan fee with a€37m buy option.
Amrabat missed today’s training session with Fiorentina, which might lead to a “ possible deadline move” after Barcelona’s offer was initially turned down, Romano said.
Other sports outlets deny the reported rejection of Barcelona’s proposal. According to the website Managing Barca, Amrabat has already spoken with former player and Spanish professional football manager Xavi and is now pushing Fiorentina to allow him to join FC Barcelona.
The same website tweeted that the Spanish club and Amrabat have reached “full agreement on personal terms,” and that Barcelona will make a “second offer” to “convince” Fiorentina.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Confirmed: FC Barcelona & Sofyan Amrabat have reached full agreement on personal terms! Now, the club will make a second offer, which can convince Fiorentina.”
Sofyan Amrabat posts positive words on instagram: “Go for it now. The future is promised to no one.”
The proof of this offer appeared to be in Amrabat himself, or rather, his absence. Fiorentina trained without him today, as Amrabat seemingly tries to force the deal through.
More fuel has been added to that fire, after Amrabat posted the message on his Instagram.
This has been presumed, logically, by many to be a hint that he is going for a transfer now.
Regardless of Amrabat’s desire, the reality is that Barcelona’s finances are limited. Fiorentina likely want much more of a guarantee of his funds in order to let the World Cup star go, but with the Blaugrana only just inside their salary limit, they cannot commit much more to the transfer.
