Brighton advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, beating holders Liverpool 2-1.

Liverpool took the lead when Mohamed Salah played in Harvey Elliott, who finished well to make it 1-0 to the away side.

Nine minutes later Brighton captainLewis Dunk flick a Tariq Lamptey shot past Alisson and into the net to level the sides before the break.

Kaoru Mitoma was the match-winner and scored a sensational individual goal in the 92nd minute, showing superb skill to take the ball down, cut back inside and volley it high into the net.

“It’s nice to have him in our side. He’s a top player and we’re lucky to have him on our team,” Dunk told ITV when asked about Mitoma after the victory.

Brighton have now beaten Liverpool twice in three weekends, after recording a 3-0 win over Jurgen Klopp’s side earlier this month.

Brighton never won a major trophy despite losing so many players in recent times, and their manager Graham Potter, they continue to impress and improve under Roberto De Zerbi.

These results are no longer surprises, this is where Brighton belong and this could be the season they go on a cup run or make it to Europe for the first time.

Liverpool are out of the cup and have Real Madrid on the way soon in the Champions League.
