Sporting Lisbon are weighing up an offer for Heerenveen full-back Milan van Ewijk as a potential replacement for Tottenham target Pedro Porro.

However, the Portuguese side face potential competition from Premier League sides Southampton, Wolves and Fulham while PSV Eindhoven have also made an enquiry.
Tottenham have made Sporting right-back Porro their main target for this window. The Portuguese have been previously pointing to his buy-out clause of £40million but it is understood there may be a softening in their stance if Tottenham can reach £30m plus bonuses.

Further talks are planned this week with Tottenham director Fabio Paratici hoping to deliver the key defensive signing Antonio Conte needs.
As a consequence, Sporting are beginning to assess potential replacements and have identified Van Ewijk at Heerenveen who is available for a relative bargain of around £4m.
That price for the 22-year-old though has alerted other clubs who are on the look-out for cover at right-back this month.
Asked last week about a potential move to the Premier League amid growing interest, Van Ewijk told Dutch media: ‘It is hard to so no to such an opportunity. Premier League offers do not come around every day. I don’t know. It’s hard.

‘On the one hand, I would like to go, but you have to be good think about what you’re leaving behind and whether it’s the right move.’
Southampton, Wolves and Fulham are all in the market to strengthen at right-back over the next week and have been mulling over different targets.
Marco Silva has confirmed his interest in Arsenal’s Cedric Soares but is still waiting for agreement to be reached so Fulham have drawn up a list of alternatives.
