Arsenal and Fulham are continuing talks over a deal for Cedric Soares.

Fulham hope to have an agreement for the 31-year-old by the end of the week.

Arsenal are keen to sell Cedric given he is largely surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium – with Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu preferred options.

Cedric, 31, has just one Premier League appearance to his name this season, coming on as a substitute.

His only start in 2022-23 came in the Carabao Cup loss against Brighton.

Fulham are looking at alternatives should they fail to agree personal terms with main Soares.

Norwich’s Max Aarons, Danny McNamara of Millwall and Luton’s James Bree are all under consideration with Marco Silva keen to strengthen his right-back options before the window closes.

The Fulham boss is eager to add to his squad depth this month but he is also not willing to pay over the odds to do so.

Now, the Evening Standard report that Soares, who is nothing more than a bit-part player at Arsenal, is risking a switch to Fulham due to his £65,000 wage demands.

That is the wage he is on in north London but Fulham are reportedly reluctant to match that should he head south.
