The Brazilian suffered ligament damage to his knee whilst playing for his country at the World Cup and had been expected to be out for three months.

In the 1 minute 36 second clip, Jesus can be seen ramping up his recovery with boxing, stretches, body resistance training and there’s even a shot of him without the knee brace on the leg extension machine.

The post is accompanied by the the words ‘Evolving everyday’ and hashtags #alômãe, #gratidão, #doperi and #progress. Signalling the forward’s determination to get back fit for the club.

Despite the encouraging video, the Gunners are reluctant to put a time frame on when Jesus could return to action and won’t rush his recovery from the injury.

In his absence, Jesus has seen his Arsenal side go eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, and his visited his team-mates in the dressing room after their goalless draw with Newcastle on Tuesday.

Eddie Nketiah has been deputising for the Arsenal number 9, and has scored two goals in three games since the Premier League resumed after the World Cup.

However, there is some concern that without the Brazil star, Arsenal are short in the attacking department, leading them to be linked with winter window moves for Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Jesus joined the north London side at the start of the season and has scored five times in 20 games for the Gunners, playing a key role in the side that has only lost one game in the league so far this season.

Arsenal are next in action on Monday, when they take a break from the title race to play League One Oxford United in the FA Cup Third Round.
