Arsenal defender Ben White won’t travel with the Gunners to Dubai on Sunday following his withdrawal from the England squad.
White flew home from England’s World Cup campaign on Wednesday over a personal matter.
As reported by ESPN, White won’t be among the initial travelling group amongst the Arsenal squad to Dubai on Sunday and it’s unclear whether he will join up with them on a later date.
The Premier League leaders are set to take part in the Dubai Super Cup during the World Cup break facing Lyon on Thursday and AC Milan on December 13.
Mikel Arteta is using the warm-weather training camp in Dubai to get the squad back in shape ahead of the resumption of the Premier League.
The FA in a statement confirmed the defender, who had not yet featured for the Three Lions, had left their training camp in Al Wakhrah, and that it was not expected he would return to Qatar.
‘Ben White has left England’s training base in Al Wakrah and returned home for personal reasons,’ read the statement.
‘The Arsenal defender is not expected to return to the squad for the remainder of the tournament.
‘We ask that the player’s privacy is respected at this moment in time.’
His club on Wednesday night tweeted: ‘We’re all with you, Ben.’
White, who has been capped four times by the Three Lions, was called up into the World Cup squad following his impressive form for Arsenal this season.
The defender had started all 14 Premier League games before the World Cup break, helping his side to the top of the table.
