Chelsea have reignited their interest in Barcelona’s versatile full back Sergino Dest.

The 21-year old USA international is predominantly a right back but can also play on the left and that versatility is well liked by coach Thomas Tuchel.
Dest was considered in January and has been monitored since his time at Ajax.
Barca have already put offers to Chelsea pair Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta but with the financial straight jacket they find themselves in are limited to what transfer fees, if any, they can propose.
That could open the door for a player plus cash offer from Chelsea for Dest if he is willing to make the move to London.
Barca could ask for wage cuts from their players once again this summer as they look to fulfil a promise to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich and that will necessitate sales as well as salary sacrifices across their squad.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wants a whole new defence with moves already afoot to sign Sevilla centre back Jules Kounde while Villarreal’s Pau Torres, PSG’s Achraf Hakimi and Borna Sosa of Stuttgart have also been discussed.
