Jamie Carragher has insisted Liverpool have ‘never been as poor’ at they currently are.

The Reds are mid-table in in the Premier League after an incredibly underwhelming season, and tackled rivals Everton on Monday night.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have suffered heavy defeats against the likes of Wolves and Brighton in recent weeks and are showing few signs of turning their fortunes around any time soon.
Carragher, working as a pundit for Sky Sports ahead of the derby, insisted the form is a worry for the fans considering how successful they have been in recent years.
‘It’s never been as poor as this’, Carragher said. ‘It’s not just the results, it’s the performances.

‘Liverpool haven’t been unlucky, they’ve actually been lucky. The score lines could’ve been a lot worse in a lot of those games.
‘That’s the big worry for the fans. You understand your team, at times, won’t be as consistent as the team has been under Klopp for the last three or four years, losing one or two games a season. You can’t do that every year.’
The Reds haven’t invested heavily in their squad in recent times, with Cody Gakpo their only addition in January despite their predicament.
Klopp is in charge of an ageing squad, and Carragher accused the players of showing a lack of willingness to help the side out the situation.
‘It’s the performances and also a bit of a lack of fight’, the former Liverpool defender said.
‘You have to say that, and that’s not something you can throw at this team too easily. They’ve run so far, so long, so fast, and had so much quality in games over the last few years, but it’s been a huge drop-off and you can’t dress it up as anything else.’
