The Shakhtar Donetsk star, who has been on loan at Ligue 1 club Lyon so far this campaign, will now join the Foxes for the next six months before his contract with the Ukrainian outfit reactivates.

Should Brendan Rodgers wish to bring in the 22-year-old permanently, the club will have to enter new negotiations with Shakhtar this summer once his contract renews.

Tete flew in for a medical on Saturday and should be available for Leicester’s away trip to Aston Villa next week.

The Foxes identified the Brazilian winger as a potential answer to their attacking misfortunes, as Rodgers’ side look to steer clear of relegation from the Premier League.

The struggling outfit wanted to add more players to their squad this month after signing Danish left-back Victor Kristiansen for £17million from FC Copenhagen.

The Brazilian winger has caught the eye since producing six goals and three assists from his 17 Ligue 1 appearances this term.

The 22-year-old was on loan with Lyon after his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk was suspended due to the Russian invasion.

Lyon had an option to sign Tete but chose not to act upon the clause.

Both Everton and Nottingham Forest are targeting a wide player, and Tete was understood to be on their list before Leicester captured the winger.

Forest are in talks to sign Brazilian youth international Angelo Gabriel from Santos as well as PSG shot-stopper Keylor Navas.
