Inter Milan great Beppe Bergomi insists the Nerazzurri are back in the title race.

Inter stunned leaders Napoli this week as Serie A resumed.

“Inter are back in the race for the Scudetto,” Bergomi said.

“Yesterday’s win can give them self-belief, and it also gives the other teams chasing a platform to start to catch up.

“There are still 22 matches to go, and a lot of points up for grabs.

“The Nerazzurri had to win to get back into the title race, and they did so.”

On Romelu Lukaku’s performance in Wednesday’s match, Bergomi said, “He showed his determination with how he put the backline under pressure.

“He always causes problems for teams who play with a high line,” the former defender said of Lukaku, “but he also relies on the ability of the players who are alongside him.”
