The 24-year-old, who was part of France’s World Cup squad, has been linked with several Premier League clubs including West Ham and Tottenham.

Sportsmail understands that multiple top-flight clubs are tracking the defender and initial negotiations have taken place with United.

Disasi joined Monaco from Reims in 2020 and made his international debut in Qatar.

Sources in France expect him to leave Monaco either this month or in the summer transfer window.

United are expected to be in the market for a new centre back at the end of the season amid ongoing uncertainty over the long-term future of Harry Maguire.

Sources are adamant he will not leave United during this window.

But the England international remains down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag.

Left back Luke Shaw started alongside Raphael Varane, with Maguire on the bench, against both Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

The 29-year-old did play in United’s win over Bournemouth in midweek, though Ten Hag is expected to revert to his first-choice partnership of Varane and Lisandro Martinez for next week’s Manchester derby.

Maguire cost United £80million in 2019 but three years on, Rio Ferdinand feels he needs to leave Old Trafford.

‘If I’m Harry Maguire, I’m looking for a new club right now,’ the former United defender said recently.
