Cristiano Ronaldo is not part of the Manchester United squad that has travelled to London for Sunday’s Premier League game against Fulham.

The Manchester Evening News are reporting that Ronaldo was not part of the United’s travelling party to the capital, after he was absent from the club’s Carrington training ground on Saturday.

The Portuguese star missed United’s 4-2 Carabao Cup win over Aston Villa on Thursday with illness, and it appears that Ronaldo will play no part in proceedings at Craven Cottage.

The 37-year-old has started each of the last four matches before the cup win over Villa, and was expected to be rested for the game regardless.

After the game United gaffer Erik ten Hag was unsure if Ronaldo would be available for the weekend’s action, but was confident he would make the Fulham trip.

The Dutchman said: ‘I can’t guarantee that now [that he will return at Fulham] but he was ill today, he can recover from that. It’s not a really serious illness that takes days or weeks, so I think it’s possible he will be available for Sunday and in the squad.’

His absence from Sunday’s Premier League clash will be the first game Ronaldo has missed since he was recalled to the United squad after being banished for his walkout in the win over Spurs last month.
