UFC star Conor McGregor has confirmed his interest in buying Liverpool, days after owners Fenway Sports Group listed the club for sale, via a post on social media.

The Irishman has not been active in the octagon since his devastating loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021 and it seems it may be due to his perusal into other business ventures.

With news that FSG are looking to sell the Premier League outfit, the former lightweight and featherweight UFC champion was quizzed on whether he could be the man to take charge at Anfield – and it certainly seems that he’s interested.

When asked by fans whether he’d be interested in buying the Merseyside club, McGregor wrote: ‘I WOULD LOVE IT! I requested my information on this, yes. Soon as I heard. What a turn of events! What a club!’.
