Denis Zakaria was delighted scoring on debut in Chelsea’s Champions League win against Dinamo Zagreb.

Zakaria, on-loan from Juventus, struck in the 2-1 triumph.

He said, “Very excited and very happy for my debut and my goal. We won too so I’m really happy.

“I think it was important for me to have a good game and help the team to win. The job is done today. The win is the most important thing.

“On my mind was only that I have to score. I hit it as hard as possible and it went in so I’m really happy.

“Amazing feeling. The Chelsea fans are amazing. It is really good for me to have this experience. I hope I can have a lot of games in front of Chelsea fans.”

On having to wait for his debut, he added: “Very, very difficult I have to say. I like to play and always want to play. When you have to see your team-mates from the bench it is not easy but I was always behind the team and was waiting for my chance. Today it came and I took my chance.”

What Graham Potter asked of him, Zakaria: “It was nothing special, only that I had to play how I trained in recent weeks. I enjoyed the game.

“I hope so (to play more) but I think that is a question you will have to ask the coach!”
