Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has stepped up his recovery from injury by taking part in light training.

Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t played this season because of a thigh problem but is now edging closer to a return to action.
However, there isn’t any possibility of the 29-year-old being involved against Rangers on Wednesday as he wasn’t included in Liverpool’s Champions League squad.

There was another boost on the fitness front for Liverpool, with Andy Robertson also involved in training.
Robertson last featured for Liverpool against Napoli on September 7 and hasn’t played since due to a knee problem.
Despite the welcome news regarding Oxlade-Chamberlain and Robertson, there are plenty of injury concerns for Liverpool.
Winger Luis Diaz is set to be out until Boxing Day after suffering a knee injury in the defeat to Arsenal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip are also set to be out for two weeks with knee and ankle problems respectively.
Curtis Jones should be back soon but the likes of Naby Keita and Arthur are still out.

Liverpool have been very inconsistent so far this season and will be looking to return to winning ways against Rangers.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are in second place in their Champions League group having taken six from from their first three games.
