Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has joined Fenerbahce in Turkey after the collapse of his deadline day move to Nottingham Forest.

The Belgium international was able to negotiate a better deal with the Turkish club following Forest’s interest on Thursday.

The 28-year old and his representatives held extensive talks with Forest who were willing to take over the last year of his Chelsea contract but ultimately failed to find agreement.

No paperwork was sent to the Premier League as talks did not reach that stage.

However, as that deal failed to beat the clock, Batshuayi was able to use Forest’s attempts as leverage to negotiate a more lucrative contract with Fenerbahce as the Turkish window is open until September 8.

Batshuayi, who was loaned out five times while at Chelsea, had now left on a permanent deal.
