An emboldened Jesse Marsch promised Leeds would continue to play on the front foot after his team’s 3-0 dismantling of Chelsea Sunday, call the win ‘deserved’ and lauding his players’ ‘discipline.’

‘That’s not the way we are ever gonna play [sitting back] but you have to calculate how you’re going to play against these opponents,’ he said after the match to NBC Sports.

‘I think that’s what is so pleasing, we were clear on the pitch, and aggressive.’

Marsch’s team ran riot against Chelsea, scoring twice within a four-minute period in the first half on the way to their second win in three games.

The American coach noted after the game that the team failed to take any points off of the top six last season.

That trend was bucked emphatically Sunday, and Marsch believes Leeds were the clear better side.

‘Playing against the bets opponents, you know things have to go right for you on the day.

‘The best thing about today is that we didn’t need luck. We looked confident played aggressive and had discipline.’
