Chelsea’s Italian left back Emerson Palmieri has emerged as a target for Serie A side Atalanta.

The 28-year-old has drawn interest from several clubs this summer, and was subject of an enquiry from Nottingham Forest too earlier in the week.
Emerson is entering his fourth season at Stamford Bridge after his £18million arrival from Italian club Roma, but spent the last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Lyon.

The Italian defender is now a target for Atalanta, and with only two years left on his current contract with the west London club, and Thomas Tuchel may prefer to let him go this summer rather than see him leave for free next year.
And with big spenders Forest circling as well, it looks like the player will be far from spoiled for choice.
Emerson has played 71 games for the Blues, scoring twice and assisting five goals, and was part of the Italian squad that beat England to win Euro 2020 last summer.
Atalanta have already signed left-wingers Jeremie Boga and Ademola Lookman, as well as finalising deals for Merih Demiral and Brazilian midfielder Ederson, making Palmieri potentially their fifth signing fo the window.

However they look set to lose Switzerland international midfielder Remo Freuler, who has played over 200 Serie A games for the Nerazzurri.
Forest have been in talks with Atalanta over a £7.6million deal for Freuler, who has been described as ‘the conductor of the orchestra’ at the Serie A side.
The 30-year-old was the subject of further discussions between Forest and Atalanta on Thursday and Freuler is willing to make the move but the details have still to be agreed.
