With the new season getting closer and closer with each passing day, Barcelona have to start planning for the successful registration of their new players.

While they are seemingly on the right track, the Catalans still need to clear out space on their wage bill in order to accommodate their new arrivals while staying compliant with La Liga’s strict Fair Play rules.
It has led to the club trying to offload Frenkie de Jong, who is on a huge contract at the club and is unwilling to take a pay cut at the moment.
However, with the Dutch midfielder reluctant to leave, reports claimed that Barcelona were considering an alternative in the form of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s departure.
The German international is among the highest-earners at Camp Nou and would command a sizeable fee if sold, leading to speculations that the Catalans could consider selling him if de Jong does not leave.
However, a fresh report from SPORT has claimed that such an operation is currently not on the minds of the Barça officials. Ter Stegen is seen as an important part of the team and neither the management staff nor the coaching staff are contemplating the possibility of selling the German.
It is true that the former Borussia Monchengladbach ace has had a few ups and downs in the recent past. But Barcelona have confidence that he can recover his best form this season and are not considering offloading him under any circumstances.
As for the registration of new players is concerned, Barça might request ter Stegen and other players to accept wage cuts. A third lever, which could bring in €100 million, could also be activated by the Blaugrana.
However, at this moment, there are no plans whatsoever to sell ter Stegen. The German international will continue to act as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, with Inaki Pena set to become his deputy this season as Neto nears the exit doors.
