Crystal Palace have beaten Tottenham to the signing of highly rated Derby winger Malcolm Ebiowei.
The Selhurst Park club are now turning their attentions to clinching a deal for Lens midfielder Cheick Doucoure.
Ebiowei, 18, is widely regarded as one of English football’s leading young talents and has been the subject of major interest from England and abroad this summer.
But the Eagles have completed a significant coup by securing a deal to sign the teenager, who will finalise his move to Selhurst Park today.
Manchester United had been heavily linked with a move for Ebiowei, but while the Old Trafford did express an interest in the youngster, who has represented England and Holland at junior level, they are understood to have not fully pursued a move.
Indeed, Spurs were Palace’s main rivals for the player who made 15 appearances for Derby last season. French club Monaco were also interested.
Palace will now look to make progress with their interest in Mali international Doucoure.
Sportsmail understands talks with Lens are planned over the next 48 hours.
The Eagles are hopeful of reaching an agreement for the 22-year-old but no deal is close amid rival interest in the Doucoure.
Arsenal have also been linked with the £15million rated midfielder.
