Steve Cooper has made Joe Rodon and Morgan Gibbs-White two key targets as he prepares Nottingham Forest for their Premier League return.

The Forest boss has worked with both players – Rodon at Swansea, Gibbs-White while in charge of England’s 2017 World Cup-winning Under-17 team – and regards them highly.
He also had Gibbs-White, the Wolves attacker, on loan at Swansea for the first half of the 2020-21 campaign.

Wales centre-back Rodon joined Tottenham from Swansea for about £11million nearly two years ago but he has struggled to nail down a regular place, making 22 Premier League appearances in that time.
Gibbs-White will return to Wolves for pre-season after a successful loan spell with Sheffield United last term, when he claimed 13 goals and nine assists in 38 games.
Yet it remains to be seen whether the 22-year-old is a part of boss Bruno Lage’s plans after he was allowed to spend the last campaign at Bramall Lane.
If Gibbs-White did move to the City Ground, it would be a matter of weeks after his missed penalty ensured they reached the Championship play-off final.

Gibbs-White missed the decisive kick in the shootout after Forest’s semi-final against his Sheffield United side ended all square in May.
Meanwhile, Forest hope to agree a £17.5m deal for Union Berlin forward Taiwo Awoniyi.
They also retain an interest in defenders Nicolas Tagliafico, of Ajax, and Mainz’s £13m-rated Moussa Niakhate.
