Christian Pulisic has admitted he wants ‘more playing time’ at Chelsea after opening up on his future at Stamford Bridge and being linked with a summer move away.

The forward made 38 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and picking up five assists, but started just 13 games in the Premier League.

His lack of minutes has fuelled speculation that he may look to leave in the window, although Pulisic has insisted he is working to become a ‘regular at club level’.

He is currently away on international duty with the USA ahead of their busy run of fixtures this month, but was able to address his future when speaking to reporters.

‘As far as right now, I’m obviously just focused on what I’m doing here. And I’m super excited to be here. And yeah, that’s it,’ he said.

‘Of course, I want to get more playing time. I want to be on the field as much as I can and be the sharpest I can be and fit as well.

‘I think I still got a lot of games, but it’s always something that I’m working at and trying to be regular at club level as well to put myself in the best position to be fit when I come here with the national team.’

Earlier this season, Pulisic’s father, Mark, took aim at his son’s lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge, and described his situation as ‘sad’.

In a tweet that was subsequently deleted, he also hinted he may end up leaving.

But Pulisic himself appears excited to embrace the new era at the club following Todd Boehly’s takeover, having already held conversations with the owner.

‘At the end of the season, we were able to meet with them and they were around the club a lot,’ Pulisic told METRO.

‘They are really good people so I’m excited moving forward.’

The winger has spent three years at Chelsea since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, and has scored 25 goals in 115 appearances across all competitions.
