Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has revealed his team-mates are relishing the opportunity to work under new manager Erik ten Hag next season, highlighting his ‘attractive’ style of play and hailing him as ‘great’.

Ten Hag, currently in charge at Ajax, will take up the reins at United at the end of the current campaign, having put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the option of another year to become the permanent successor for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He won the race ahead of Mauricio Pochettino, and has also recently been highly praised by Ralf Rangnick, the interim coach at Old Trafford.

There was uncertainty over who would take up the hot seat for a number of months, with players openly airing their frustration and confusion over their struggles.
Dalot, however, says that the newfound clarity will be good for the club.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: ‘I don’t think you need to see a lot to know that he’s a great manager. What he’s done with Ajax is something outstanding.

‘He plays very attractive football, I think every fan of United is excited to have a manager like this, and we as the players are as well.
‘In our heads, it’s going to be clear who the manager will be next season and that’s good, because we go for our break… knowing who to expect.
‘Then we’ll have time in pre-season to work together, get our ideas right and start the new season.’
Ten Hag, 52, is focused on attempting to win a third Eredivisie title with Ajax before moving to United, with his side four points clear with just three games remaining.

His new side, meanwhile, will miss out on Champions League football for next season after dropping out of the top four race.
They host Brentford tonight in their final home game of the season, and are in sixth.
Their eyebrow-raising tumble down the table has raised questions over the future of several of their key players, including Cristiano Ronaldo.
But Dalot is hopeful that his compatriot will stay put and lead United to glory.

‘I don’t have any more compliments to give about the way he works, he’s a fantastic human being,’ he added.
‘The numbers are there, the stats are there, so we’re happy to have him.’
Superstar Ronaldo has another year left on his deal, with an option of another.
