Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this summer.

The 24-year-old has endured a difficult season at Old Trafford, starting just 12 Premier League games and scoring only five goals across all competitions.

The appointment of Erik ten Hag as United’s new manager has raised questions over Rashford’s future, with the Dutchman set to overhaul the squad.

According to Sport, Barcelona could offer the forward a fresh start if he is deemed surplus to requirements by ten Hag.

The report adds that the Catalan club have ‘always’ followed Rashford and admire his ‘versatility’ in attack.

However, finances could be a stumbling block in the deal with Barca still suffering from eye-watering losses.

New United boss Ten Hag is set to be handed a mammoth transfer budget to revolutionise the club, with his targets including Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Darwin Nunez.

Meanwhile, up to 10 first team players could leave Old Trafford following a hugely disappointing season.

Despite being a fan favourite and an academy graduate, Rashford could be one of those names as he looks to get his career back on track.

The 24-year-old’s poor performances this season saw him dropped from the England squad in March and with the World Cup on the horizon he will know that he will need to be playing regularly to work his way back in to Gareth Southgate’s thoughts.

Rashford’s United contract runs until 2023 and the club have an option to extend it by a further year, but if the right offer comes in he may be allowed to leave.
