Wing-back Sessegnon suffered the problem in Monday’s 5-0 win over Everton and will now miss games against Manchester United, Brighton and West Ham.

It is the latest in a long line of hamstring injuries for the 21-year-old.

Conte said: ‘Bad news about Ryan Sessegnon. He had a scan, a muscular problem, maybe we will see him after the international break.

‘We are not talking about a new problem, we are talking about a situation that unfortunately is repeating. Not only in this season but also in the past.

‘For sure we have to try with the medical department to find a solution to help this player.’

Conte has more injury concerns after admitting he does not know when Oliver Skipp will return from a groin issue.

‘This is a problem, I am a bit worried. In my mind, in the mind of my players, there is the desire to come back very soon,’ he added. ‘In this moment, if you ask me a forecast about his return, I don’t have an answer.

‘For this reason I am really worried. We are talking about a player who was playing very well. For sure I am worried because he started with a groin pain and then we are talking about two months that he is out. I don’t have so many midfielders.’
