Bayern Munich’s stranglehold on the Bundesliga title only appears to be getting stronger and the Bavarians stepped close to another title on Saturday evening with a 1-0 win away at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Leroy Sane got the game’s only goal just beyond the midway point of the second half, allowing them to pull – at least temporarily – nine points clear of Borussia Dortmund, who sit second.

Bayern dominated on the day, expectedly, having more than two thirds of the ball and attempting 21 shots at goal to Eintracht’s six.

It didn’t always look like it was going to end well for the champions in Frankfurt, yet Sane came off the bench to have a pretty swift impact. Just four minutes after his introduction, Joshua Kimmich’s cutback was met by Sane who finished into the bottom corner.

Dortmund travel to Augsburg on Sunday hoping to cut the gap at the top.
