AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has rejected the advances of Tottenham as he wants to honour his current contract.

Tottenham and Milan have been in talks for a few days now about Kessie and an agreement was reportedly reached, but the player put a stop to things, not wanting to make the move to England, according to Calciomercato.com.
The 25-year-old is set to become a free agent in just over five months’ time with his contract up at the end of June, but he wants to stay and be a part of the Serie A title race as Rossoneri look to be crowned champions for the first time since 2010/11.

Milan have reportedly offered the Ivory Coast international a salary of £5.4million a year but Kessie has so far resisted all offers of an extension.
He is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any European club.
Kessie initially joined Milan on loan from Atalanta in 2017 and made the deal permanent in 2019.
He has made 205 appearances for the club, during which time he has scored 35 goals and has provided 16 assists.

Kessie has played 21 times during the 2021/22 season, and he has scored five goals.

The midfielder, who is attracting interest from a number of clubs including PSG, is currently away representing the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations.
Kessie scored a goal for Les Elephants in their 3-1 victory against Algeria in Group E as they sent the holders home.
Ivory Coast next face Egypt in the last 16 on Wednesday, January 26.
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte will however not be happy with the latest news on Kessie as he is desperately looking to add reinforcements before the January transfer window slams shut.
Spurs are trying to offload the likes of Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele, and Giovanni Lo Celso to make space for new additions as the boss bids to help the north London outfit finish in the top four.
Two of their biggest targets were Wolves Adama Traore and Milan’s Kessie with the latter now turning them down.
