FC Barcelona are in the market to sign a striker and a defender during the January transfer window. Multiple reports indicate that Barcelona’s manager, Xavi Hernández, has requested Álvaro Morata and they are working to bring him in as early as this week.

Dest with unclear future

But in order to sign Morata, the people in charge at Camp Nou need to sell some of the players that are currently in the squad. One of them is Sergiño Dest, and they are listening to offers from other clubs. The United States international has made it clear that he wants to stay at Barcelona and has a contract until 2025.

Linked with move away

Dest has been linked to a move to Bayern Munich and Chelsea in recent weeks, but the latest report indicates that Atlético Madrid are keen on signing him. Los Colchoneros are looking to replace Kieran Trippier, who will join Newcastle United, and they see Dest as a good fit for the team.

Dest continues to recover from covid-19 and he will miss Wednesday’s Copa del Rey clash against Linares Deportivo. Dest has made 12 league appearances this season and has provided three assists.
