Arsenal’s visit from Burnley has been pushed back 24 hours due to the knock-on effect of having their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Covid-wracked Liverpool postponed.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds successfully lobbied the EFL to have Thursday’s first leg postponed, with the semi-final legs pushed back by two weeks.

As a result, with the second leg at the Emirates Stadium now falling on Thursday, January 20, the Premier League have had to intervene in Arsenal’s league calendar.
Mikel Arteta’s side were due to play Burnley on Saturday, January 22, but that would have left less than 48 hours recovery time.
The Premier League have since confirmed that the match will go ahead on Sunday, January 23, with a 2pm kick-off.
