Sergio Busquets and Gavi both picked up their fifth bookings of the season in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw between Barcelona and Sevilla.

Therefore, they will both be suspended for Barça’s next game, against Mallorca at San Moix on Jan. 2 as Barça now have over a week off for Christmas.

Busquerts was booked in the first half for a foul on Lucas Ocampos, while Gavi earned a yellow in the 77th minute for catching a defender as he tried to connect with a cross.

Busquets has played every official game for Barça this season in LaLiga and the Champions League, starting them all. His first break will come in the first game of 2022.

He’s been booked against Real Sociedad, Cádiz, Valencia, Celta and now Sevilla.

With those two missing, it’s likely to be Frenkie de Jong, Nico Gonzalez and one more, depending on injuries and comebacks, at Mallorca in January.
