Real Madrid’s slump in form continued as they fell to a surprise 2-1 defeat away to Espanyol on Sunday, leaving them without a win in three games in all competitions.

Former Real academy player Raul de Tomas slid in to put Espanyol ahead in front of over 25,000 fans in the 17th minute while ex-Barcelona man Aleix Vidal deepened Carlo Ancelotti’s side’s problems by doubling the hosts’ advantage on the hour mark.
Karim Benzema gave Real hope with a late goal but Espanyol held on, inflicting a second straight defeat on Real after losing to Sheriff in the Champions League on Tuesday.
