Inter are not pursuing a contract extension with Ivan Perisic, with neither the club nor the player interested in holding talks over a renewal.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Croat, whose contract expires at the end of June 2022, will likely leave on a free transfer next summer.

Despite being linked with a move away for much of the summer and reportedly the subject of interest from a number of clubs in the Bundesliga in particular, Perisic has remained at Inter for the season.
The 32-year-old will remain for one final season where he is still a regular contributor, but given the size of his wages which are €5 million net annually and almost €10 million gross the club will allow him to depart in order to get him off of the wage bill. The player for his part is not interested in starting talks on a new deal, and will happily leave after playing for the rest of the season.
