McKennie not wanted at Juventus?

After spending last season on loan with the club, Weston McKennie’s move to Juventus was made permanent this past summer.

Juve are said to have paid around €18m to land the midfielder.

Despite the recency of his Serie A switch, though, rumours spread last month that the American was in fact not in the plans of new boss, Massimiliano Allegri.

Reports stemming from Italy then suggested that Tottenham were keen to sign McKennie on loan, but Juve were not interested.

A somewhat surprising report on deadline day also claimed that Burnley had been offered the chance to sign the midfielder.

McKennie, in the end, stayed put in Turin for the time being. However, he is already being touted for a January move.

Aston Villa would be linked with the American at the back end of August.

Xhaka-McKennie swap?

And now, as mentioned above, another Premier League outfit are now being credited with an interest in the USA international.

Football.london, citing a report stemming from Italy, claim that Juve are readying a swap offer for Xhaka, with the Italian outfit prepared to offer McKennie.

It is not mentioned if this were to be a move that could take place in January or one for the summer.

But if it is true that Allegri has no plans for McKennie, perhaps both the club and player may be looking to sever the ties as soon as possible, which would be January coming up.

McKennie has featured just twice in the Serie A so far this season, with both of those games ending in defeat for Juventus.
