Manchester United has clawed ahead of Premier League rivals Arsenal in the race for Wolves’ Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves this summer, with the Red Devils undertaking multiple moves with intent to push Manchester City next season.

Neves has been one of the shining lights at the Molineaux since his arrival from Portuguese giants FC Porto back in 2017. His performances under former boss Nuno Espirito Santo were vital in the clubs’ effort at achieving promotion in his debut season, and his influence remained constant with Wolves’ back-to-back 7th-place finishes in 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Arsenal has maintained a long-standing interest in the Portuguese, and with Granit Xhaka all but out the door and on his way to AS Roma this summer, Neves is viewed as a potential ideal replacement for the Swiss maestro.
But United is adamant at undertaking impressive business this season as they look to hunt down rivals City and push for their first Premier League win since the 2012-13 campaign.

Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho has all but completed a return move to England and is officially expected to be a United player soon. The club has also been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane while interest in Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka has begun to heat up. Links with interest in a center-forward also loom, with names like Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, Alexandar Isak, Mauro Icardi, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin mentioned.
But perhaps the crux of any move for interest is the uncertain future of mercurial midfield talent Paul Pogba. United could well be under pressure to sell the French international who has just 12-months left on his current deal at Old Trafford. With interest from PSG growing and the hopes that they could bring the player in for a fee lower than what United paid for Poga to return to Manchester after his time with Juventus, Ole Gunnar Solsjar may be forced to part ways with the influential figure.
