Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana has seen the appeal against his doping ban rejected by UEFA.

Onana is serving a year’s suspension and is was confirmed today UEFA are insisting he serve the full term.

A fresh appeal to the Court of Arbitration in Sport will now be lodged.

“UEFA’s position has not changed. They want the CAS to maintain the 12-month suspension. It is not yet known when the final decision of the CAS will be announced,” announced Ajax.

Onana is being linked with Arsenal this week, where it’s been suggested the Gunners are willing to pay two different fees depending on whether his appeal is successful or not.
