European manager, Gennaro Gattuso has been sacked by Napoli after failing to secure a UEFA Champions League spot next season.

Napoli could have secured a place in Champions League if they had gotten all three points against Hella Verona but a 1-1 draw in the game relegated the Naples to fifth place as Juventus secured a place in the UCL.

According to reports in Goal, The former AC Milan manager was sacked for missing out on Champions League football.

Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed the departure of Gattuso with a statement released on his official Twitter page after the game against Hellas Verona.
