Antonio Rudiger is expected to be in demand during the final days of the transfer window.

“Rudiger is not injured, my understanding is he is fit, but he is not in the plans at the moment and that looks to be not a great decision when you look at Chelsea’s defensive record,” Mirror football writer Darren Lewis told Super Sunday Matchday.

“They had the worst defence in the top 10 last season, they have started this season as though they could concede a goal in any game.

“Brighton scored against them, West Brom should have won yesterday and the papers are all very uncompromising about Frank Lampard’s team today.

“As far as Rudiger is concerned, there will be a lot of clubs in for him as he is a fantastic defender and there will be a stampede for him.”
