Sadio Mane and Kevin De Bruyne have both had impressive seasons but the Man City star reckons the Liverpool man deserves the Player of the Year award. Kevin De Bruyne has named Liverpool star Sadio Mane as his pick for the PFA Player of the Year award.

The Reds have dominated the Premier League season and were poised to be named champions prior to the competition’s postponement.

City have been their closest challengers, but even they are more than 20 points behind.

Liverpool players have therefore dominated the Player of the Year predictions, although De Bruyne himself is certainly in the mix.

But the Senegalese international, who has become one of the leading lights at Anfield, is the stand out man according to the Belgian.

“He has been important, so if I had to choose somebody, I would choose Mane.”

The 28-year-old was signed in Jurgen Klopp’s first summer at Liverpool for £34m.

Since then his goalscoring exploits have only improved with 13 strikes in his first season compared to 26 last term.

On several occasions Mane has proved to be the difference maker for a side that have won 27 out of 29 league games this term.
