England’s comfortable victory over Andorra this evening saw Arsenal talent Bukayo Saka etch his name into the nation’s history books.

Abraham amongst the goals

Gareth Southgate’s men were of course back in action a short time ago.

In their first outing of the latest international break, the Three Lions made the trip to minnows Andorra, for their latest World Cup qualifier.

England headed into proceedings having enjoyed a fine campaign to date, with the sole blip-up amid an otherwise flawless record having come courtesy of a 1-1 stalemate with Poland last time out.

When all was said and done on Saturday night, though, Southgate and co. got firmly back on track, courtesy of a dominant 4-0 win.

Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell opened the game’s scoring inside twenty minutes, before the aforementioned Saka doubled the visitors’ advantage with an England 2nd shortly before the interval:

Next on the scoresheet was the returning Tammy Abraham, before James Ward-Prowse – too a late call-up to the Three Lions’ squad – added some gloss to the scoreline ten minutes from time.

And there was even time for Jack Grealish to get in on the festivities, opening his international account in no small part thanks to the efforts of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone:

Saka shining

As outlined above, though, on a special night for a whole host of England’s stars, it was one in particular who went on to etch his name into the nation’s history books versus Andorra.

The man in question? Bukayo Saka.

As revealed by statisticians OptaJoe, in making it two goals in his last two appearances for the Three Lions this evening, Saka both followed in the footsteps of legendary hitman Wayne Rooney, and joined an exclusive Arsenal-based club:
