Tuesday, August 31, more commonly known as transfer deadline day, now also marks Oscar Mingueza’s official registration as a Barcelona first team player.

The defender appeared in his side’s clash on Sunday against Getafe after having missed the first two games of the 2021/22 LaLiga Santander season due to some discomfort caused by his involvement in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Mingueza made his debut for the first team squad under Ronald Koeman in Barcelona’s 2020/21 campaign, making a total of 39 appearances, 32 of which he started.

His versatility as a wide player and central defender were what attracted Koeman to the Spaniard.
