The Lilywhites, as per reports stemming from France, swooped decisively for Metz teenage sensation Pape Matar Sarr on Friday afternoon.
In fact, some outlets went as far as to suggest that a deal was ‘almost complete’.

Ahead of the club’s Ligue 1 meeting with Reims this afternoon, Metz president Bernard Serin was drawn on Sarr’s future.
And the patron went on to confirm that the Grenats are indeed locked in ‘advanced talks’ with their counterparts at Tottenham, with a deal worth a fee in excess of €10 million seemingly inching closer:
