One area Nuno Tavares emphasized about in his first interview as an Arsenal player was his ability to take good shots with his right foot. He proved that today with a fine goal against Rangers.

The gunners played their second pre-season match against Rangers a few days after losing their first against Hibernian. Mikel Arteta started with a strong starting line-up which involved new signing, Nuno Tavares.

Arsenal started the game brightly, but missed a chance to go ahead after Aubameyang missed a sitter. Rangers capitalized on that and scored the opening goal through Leon Balogun in the 14th minute. The gunners fought hard and got back into the game, but the goal came from new boy, Tavares. The left-back was able to get past his man in the 23rd minute and then made a right footed strike into the bottom corner.

It was a wonderful goal to behold. Tavares arrived with the reputation of being very good with his right foot, he certainly demonstrated that there with that finish. As at the time this article was written, the score line was 1-1, with Aubameyang missing three big chances to give Arsenal three goals
