Simeone and his coaching staff sign contract extensions until 2024

He joined Atléti 10 years ago, 2011.
Diego Simeone has signed a new contract at Atletico Madrid which will keep him at the club until 2024.
The Argentine tactician has been at the helm of Atleti since 2011 and has led the club to numerous pieces of silverware including two La Liga titles, two Europa League crowns and a Copa del Rey.

Simeone has twice suffered the heartbreak of finishing as a beaten finalist in the Champions League, having lost both the 2013/14 and 2015/16 showpiece events, but his ability to carry Atleti through to the latter stages of the competition has inevitably seen his name linked with almost every big job that becomes available.
This summer has been like no other in terms of managerial turnover at some of Europe’s biggest clubs, but Atletico have now ensured their manager will be going nowhere after confirming he has signed a new three-year deal with the club.
The news comes little over a month since Simeone guided his side to the 2020/21 La Liga title, following a pulsating title race that saw Atletico pip city rivals Real Madrid on the final day.
