Kai Havertz was outstanding in the encounter as the Chelsea forward provided three goals on the night setting up his teammates

After scoring seven goals, Germany will now begin their quest for European title in more confident fashion as they are among favourites

Chelsea stars Timo Werner as well as Kai Havertz inspired Germany to a 7-1 rout of Latvia in their final friendly game before Euro 2020 kicks off, 

Making his 39th international appearance, Werner grabbed his 16th goal on the night while Havertz was directly involved in three goals helping the Germans to a convincing victory.

It was their final friendly match ahead of the start of Euro 2020 and they entertained about 1000 fans who were allowed into the stadium in Dusseldorf.

The first half saw Havertz playing the commanding role for Germany as he set up the first goal converted by Atalanta wing-back Robin Gosens in the 19th minute.

Moments later, the Chelsea forward supplied another brilliant pass for Ilkay Gundogan who grabbed the second on the night before Thomas Muller made it 3-0 in the 27th minute.

The Germans got four more goals in what was a one-sided affair before Manuel Neuer was eventually beaten with 15 minutes left on the clock.

Germany, with this big victory under their belt, begin their Euro 2020 campaign next Tuesday against France.
