Anthony Martial came off the bench to score in Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Omonia.
The French forward netted United’s second goal to help the team overturn a surprise half-time deficit.
Martial’s goal was another step forward in his return from injury, he now has three in his last two appearances.
Former United stars Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves spoke highly of Martial after United’s win, on BT Sport.
Praise for ‘proper player’ Anthony Martial
United legend Scholes gave his backing to Martial and said he hopes he can keep playing like he has been recently.

He told BT Sport: “Every United fan knows he has real talent. But we just need to see it more often.
“The lad’s got real ability. He’s been quiet for 18 months, we’re not sure whats happened to him, injuries, confidence, but the lad has got ability, we need to see more of it. He can score a lot of goals.”
Hargreaves said: “He needs confidence. When he has it, he is a proper player.”
He added that he feels Martial needs to play facing goal, rather than with his back to it, and hopes Erik ten Hag will continue to get the best out of him.
Martial has scored three goals and has one assist this season without starting a game.
Martial scored three goals in pre-season before suffering injury, and he is gradually working back to full fitness.
Erik ten Hag said before the game that Martial’s return was ‘a process’, keen not to push him.
There is a good chance he features against Everton on Sunday, and United sensibly chose not to ask him to start twice in four days.
